I just wanted to get down a quick review and recommendation about a book I’ve been reading recently!
I found the book Scarred for Life in a little bookshop new my home. At first I thought it might be a history of skating but in fact it’s a few stories from the lives of real skaters. The author is incredible at telling the stories, especially through interviews, and you can tell that he really knows what he’s talking about.
One story which really impressed me was about a skater from the 90s called Rodriguez from New York. He talks about the prime days of skating round New York and how cool it was. He saw the whole city as a massive skate park to be explored.
Reading this has inspired me to get out there and try interviewing some skaters myself. Keep tuned for an interview post soon!
